Selena Gomez recently discussed her mental health on Benny Blanco’s Friends Keep Secrets podcast. She revealed that she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

She stated that before being officially diagnosed, “I knew something was wrong, but I think I was misdiagnosed.” Selena also mentioned trying multiple therapists and finding it difficult to encourage others to seek therapy due to the complexity of these issues.

In 2020, Gomez announced her diagnosis. She expressed pride in having moments of mania and emphasized that she is not ashamed about her condition. The singer highlighted the importance of understanding and acceptance from a supportive partner.

Gomez also noted that living life more freely has been beneficial for her since receiving her diagnosis. She pointed out the hypocrisy of shaming people who seek therapy, as it can provide clarity on personal behavior patterns, such as acting out of fear, love, or passion.
