SHC Directs Withdrawal of X Closure Notification

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has instructed the interior ministry to retract the closure notification of X, formerly known as Twitter, within a one-week timeframe, setting a deadline for compliance.

Furthermore, the provincial apex court has demanded that the interior ministry provide reasons behind the closure of X by May 9.

The SHC chief justice expressed skepticism regarding the ban on X, stating that there appeared to be no substantial reason for its imposition.

Additionally, the SHC chief justice remarked that there is no constitutional mandate for implementing reports from intelligence agencies.
