The Sindh government has announced to commence water sports activities for the people of the province at Keenjhar Lake, situated near Thatta District.
Culture and Tourism Minister of Sindh, Zulfiqar Shah, revealed that water sports activities have begun at Keenjhar Lake on a trial basis, with plans to introduce regular water sports and paragliding soon.
This initiative follows the Sindh government’s decision last June to develop a world-class tourist center at Keenjhar Lake. A steering committee meeting chaired by Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh discussed plans for the modern resort, with the Kuwait Investment Agency providing a briefing on its development.
Minister Shaikh reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Keenjhar Lake into an attractive tourist destination, ensuring the provision of modern facilities for visitors. The proposed modern resort is set to feature state-of-the-art amenities, aiming to attract both domestic and foreign tourists.
Covering an area of 24 km, Keenjhar Lake holds significant potential for tourism development. The government is focused on identifying a suitable location for the construction of the modern resort, anticipating that the project’s completion will contribute to both domestic and foreign exchange earnings.
