Sindh to Launch Electric Taxis with Chinese Collaboration

Sindh Senior Minister for Transport, Sharjeel Memon, has announced plans for the introduction of electric taxis in the province. In a recent meeting with representatives from Chinese automobile manufacturer GAC and Dewan Motors, Memon emphasized the provincial government’s readiness to foster a supportive environment for investors.

Memon highlighted that this initiative would not only enhance public transport but also create new job opportunities. “The Sindh government would provide infrastructure and facilities for electric taxis,” he stated.

The transport minister assured that the establishment of charging stations and a streamlined regulatory process would be prioritized. During the meeting, GAC’s general manager provided insights into electric vehicles and explored various options for the rollout of electric taxis in Sindh.
