The Starlink satellite internet service has been activated in a Gaza Strip hospital with the assistance of Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Elon Musk announced.

Many health facilities in Gaza have been destroyed during over nine months of war. Musk stated that the internet service has been enabled with the cooperation of Israel and the UAE.

“Starlink is now active in a Gaza hospital with the support of @UAEmediaoffice and @Israel,” Musk posted on X.

This development comes more than five months after the Israeli government approved Starlink’s use in the hospital located in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

Starlink, owned by Musk’s SpaceX, is a network of satellites in low Earth orbit designed to provide internet access to remote areas or regions where traditional communication infrastructure has been disrupted.

The UAE highlighted that the high-speed internet will facilitate potentially life-saving medical consultations through real-time video calls.
