In observance of Ramadan 1447 AH, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced revised business hours for all banks across the country. This decision aims to better serve customers during this holy month by streamlining operations with a special schedule designed for convenience and continuity.

The SBP spokesperson confirmed in their statement that from Monday through Thursday, commercial banks, development financial institutions (DFIs), microfinance banks, and the SBP itself will operate under uniform timings as outlined by the central bank. During these hours—specifically from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM—customers can expect uninterrupted access to essential banking services.

On Fridays, operations will extend until 12:30 PM, reflecting the unique schedule during Ramadan. This timing is mindful of congregational prayers and personal commitments associated with this month.

The SBP emphasized that these revised timings would be strictly adhered to across all branches nationwide. Formal instructions have been issued to ensure full compliance by all relevant institutions, as the central bank recognizes its responsibility in facilitating smooth banking transactions throughout Pakistan’s diverse religious landscape.

This special arrangement is designed not only to cater to customers’ needs but also to support employees who may need additional time for prayer or other Ramadan observances. The SBP pointed out that after Ramadan concludes, banks will revert to their pre-Ramadan working hours. Any further changes or updates would be communicated through official channels.

As it has been customary each year, adjustments in banking hours during Ramadan are made to ensure orderly operations while accommodating the spiritual and social commitments of both employees and customers.
