State Minister for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry affirmed coalition unity ahead of federal budget approval. Speaking post-meeting with local traders, he dismissed speculation about internal differences, expressing confidence in the budget’s passage with full allied support.
Chaudhry emphasized that while coalition parties have distinct concerns and priorities, these are normal democratic processes addressed through consultation and consensus. The government believes in inclusive decision-making, engaging all partners on national matters, whether federal budgets, constitutional amendments, or significant legislation.
Regarding Jaranwala’s demand for district status, Chaudhry highlighted the unprecedented development funds allocated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during her first two years. He noted that few Punjabi cities received comparable grants, with substantial investments in road infrastructure, civic amenities, and public facilities.
The minister added that commitments to Jaranwala’s residents made under Mian Nawaz Sharif are being fulfilled gradually, with major development initiatives completed and sewerage/urban schemes nearing completion. Future commitments will ensure modern infrastructure and improved services for the region.
