Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister of Information, recently highlighted the country’s significant recognition at an inaugural Board of Peace meeting held in Washington on February 19th. In a video shared by Radio Pakistan on Friday, the minister emphasized that the praise extended to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir had elevated Pakistan’s global stature and positioned it as a key player on the world stage.

Tarar stated that President Donald Trump’s appreciation for Pakistani efforts, particularly regarding the Palestinian cause, underscored these achievements. He noted that PM Shehbaz frequently brought up Palestine at international forums, notably during the United Nations (UN) and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

The minister elaborated: “Today, he stressed three critical points – first, Palestinians have a right to their land; second, they should be granted self-determination in line with UN Security Council resolutions; and third, an independent Palestinian state is essential for lasting peace.” These statements not only reflected the sentiments of Palestinians but also brought pride to Muslims worldwide.

Tarar described this as a testament to Pakistan’s effective foreign policy. He added that both leaders’ confident demeanor during the meeting further amplified their country’s global influence.

The minister concluded by asserting, “Pakistan’s foreign policy is making significant progress; from isolation in the past, our nation has seen dramatic improvements. Honest leadership yields positive outcomes.” The establishment of the Board of Peace was supported by a UN Security Council resolution endorsing international cooperation for Gaza’s reconstruction and addressing broader conflict resolution roles.

Tarar’s comments indicate that Pakistan has successfully navigated its way onto the global stage thanks to strong teamwork between PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir.
