Showrunner Eric Kripke Reveals His Hesitation Over A-Train’s Death
Eric Kripke, the showrunner for The Boys, reveals his hesitation over killing off the speedster A-Train in the series’ fifth season. This shocking twist occurred at the beginning of the final season, orchestrated by Homelander himself.
Kripke told The Hollywood Reporter that he was initially resistant to killing A-Train so early, finding it a bit scary. He explained his reluctance stemmed from another storyline he was working on for A-train, focusing on where he is now and how he can help The Boys.
However, the writers pushed back against Kripke’s reservations, arguing for their own campaign: shock value. They argued that dropping a major character in the first episode would make it clear to viewers that no one is safe throughout the rest of the season.
The final season of The Boys will premiere on April 15.
