Former Hollywood lighting director Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, has publicly declared his newfound love. He is romantically involved with Rio Canedo, 46, who assisted him following a life-threatening leg amputation.

Markle expressed that ‘haters will hate’ but he is overjoyed to find love after years of neglect. He told the Daily Mail that Rio has brought him “peace and happiness” after years of being “sad and neglected”.

In an update since attending the Valentine’s Day party at his rehabilitation center in the Philippines, Markle shared a health update. He expressed hopes for reconciliation with Meghan and meeting her grandchildren.

The 81-year-old stated he is well taken care of and grateful for the care received. Physiotherapy has helped him adjust slowly, but noted that there is still a long way to go before he fully adjusts to his circumstances.
