Timothée Chalamet’s unexpected reaction has finally come to light following his surprise loss at this year’s Actor Awards, where he missed out on the Best Actor in a Leading Role prize. Radar Online reported that the Dune star displayed “quite devastation” after losing out to Michael B. Jordan, who is known for his role as the antagonist in The Black Sinner.

Kylie Jenner’s beau was widely tipped as the frontrunner for this award, but his expectations were dashed when Viola Davis announced Jordan as the winner. Body language expert Inbaal Honigman commented on Chalamet’s performance during the ceremony. She explained that despite appearing “optimistic” with a bright smile and nod towards the camera indicative of good-natured gratitude, her observation revealed deeper feelings.

Chalamet looked “confident and excited,” eagerly anticipating his name to be called among fellow nominees. However, his euphoria gave way to quiet devastation upon learning Jordan had claimed victory. Honigman noted that Chalamet’s confident nod was quickly followed by loud applause and cheers for the winner. He also expressed his silent disappointment through a moment of lowered eyes, using them as a protective shield to process his emotions.

Honigman further elaborated on Chalamet’s speech during Jordan’s acceptance speech. The actor enthusiastically clapped but kept his gaze lowered, clearly showcasing his emotional state. It is worth noting that both actors are also vying for Oscar consideration in the upcoming ceremony.
