Two Deaths as Earthquake Strikes Southwest China; Evacuations and Collapses Reported

Two confirmed deaths and one missing person following a magnitude 5.2 earthquake in China’s Guangxi region on Monday, CCTV and Xinhua state news agency said.

The quake prompted over 7,000 residents of Liuzhou to evacuate as search and rescue operations continue, according to the reports.

Thirteen buildings collapsed early Monday morning, with no life-threatening injuries reported among four individuals taken to hospitals, as per CCTV and Xinhua.
