The officer reported that a male suicide attacker approached and detonated explosives near the post. He was conducting an operational search intended to uphold law and order in the area when he died.

Two policemen were martyred – Muhammad Faheem and Muhammad Shehbaz, while another person was injured during the explosion. Three individuals passing by also suffered injuries from the blast. The identity of these passersby has yet to be confirmed.

The victims were rushed to Bhakkar District Headquarters Hospital where medical aid is being provided. This shocking loss comes just days after six law enforcement personnel were killed in a separate terrorist attack involving a police vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohat district, which also left the deputy superintendent of police among the dead.

The circumstances surrounding this second incident have yet to be disclosed, but the recent wave of violence underscores the ongoing threat and resilience faced by law enforcement personnel across Pakistan.
