University of Karachi Allocates Two Acres to SHEC

The University of Karachi (KU) has approved the allocation of two acres of land to the Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC), as part of efforts to support higher education development in the province.

During a recent meeting chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, the Syndicate of KU discussed several administrative and academic matters, including the land allocation. It was decided that while the land will be provided to SHEC, ownership will remain with the university.

The agreement stipulates that the land is to be used strictly for educational purposes and not for any commercial activities. Additionally, any structures built on this land will be owned by Karachi University, ensuring that the university retains control over the property and its developments.

The Sindh Higher Education Commission, established in 2013 following Pakistan’s 18th Constitutional Amendment, is dedicated to promoting higher education and research within the province. Through initiatives like this, SHEC aims to significantly contribute to the socio-economic advancement of Sindh.
