Viral Post Ignites India’s Gen-Z Protests Over Job Insecurity

Public relations graduate Abhijeet Dipke expressed shock over Chief Justice Surya Kant’s comments comparing young people who criticize the government to “cockroaches” and “parasites”. Despite rapid economic growth, millions struggle with stable jobs, leading to discontent. Dipke created the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) online, which gained 30,000 supporters within a day. The movement has evolved into street protests across India, focusing on demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation due to exam irregularities.

Student Anjali, from Bihar, noted that anger accumulated over years of systemic issues in education and other institutions. Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the protests, fasting since June 28, urging government responsiveness. Dipke emphasized no political ambitions for the movement, aiming instead to address student frustration with exams and broader institutional issues.
