Pakistan Hockey Federation President Mohyuddin Wani emphasized the importance of focused preparation as the national team gears up for the upcoming World Cup qualifying round in Egypt. Speaking to team captain Hammad Shakeel Butt, Wani assured that every possible support would be provided ahead of these critical matches.
The federation president confirmed that facilities and resources would be fully available for training purposes, with assurances from both Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, and the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Coordination has been established to ensure smooth arrangements for the team in Cairo.
Wani highlighted clear goals set by the federation to boost the prestige of hockey, Pakistan’s national sport, and bolster the team’s international standing. He urged players to dedicate themselves to training sessions, recognizing player development as a top priority.
To maximize resources, the regional office in Islamabad has been closed down. Wani announced that all available funds would be directed towards enhancing training facilities and supporting the athletes’ development needs.
For administrative matters, the federation will utilize space provided by the Pakistan Sports Board, with emphasis on maintaining its primary focus on improving on-field performance.
This renewed commitment underscores the federation’s dedication to ensuring a strong showing in the upcoming World Cup qualifying round.
