In preparation for the rainy period, a final phase of cleaning main trunk sewer lines, major channels, and roadside drains has begun under Raza’s supervision. The operation is scheduled to conclude before the onset of monsoon to guarantee uninterrupted drainage services for citizens.

The newly acquired equipment comprises two dump trucks, two combined jetting machines, suction vehicles, and desilting machines, all instrumental in ensuring thorough sewer cleaning and effective drainage maintenance.

Raza highlighted that the introduction of modern machinery would markedly improve WASA’s operational efficiency and provide relief during heavy rainfall events. He emphasized that maintaining effective drainage facilities is a top priority for the department.

The managing director also stated that all new machinery will be fully operational before the start of monsoon, with dewatering sets deployed at designated ponding points to expedite rainwater removal promptly.
