Western Weather System Expected March 25-28
A western weather system is expected to impact the country from March 25 to 28, with more pronounced effects in Balochistan. According to Anjum Nazir Zaigham of the Karachi Meteorological Department, this system will enter Balochistan via Iran, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to the province. It will also affect Sindh, including Karachi, where strong winds and sudden heavy rain are expected.
Current Weather Conditions
Today’s weather in Karachi is clear with bright sunshine. Over the next two days, partly cloudy skies are expected, with daytime temperatures likely between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius. Deputy Director Anjum Nazir Zaigham noted that higher-than-normal temperatures have been observed across the country in February and March, which could increase the intensity and variability of weather patterns.
Rain and Thunderstorms Expected
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported on Sunday that a western weather system is affecting most parts of the country, with rain and thunder expected in Karachi. Rain with thunder was also likely in several districts of rural Sindh, including Larkana, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Naushahro Feroze, and Dadu.
Eidul Fitr Disrupted by Rain
Rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, affected several parts of Karachi early on the first day of Eidul Fitr. The downpour intensified at intervals, turning the festive morning into a wet and chaotic affair, forcing many citizens to alter their plans as movement became difficult in several areas.
