Gravediggers prepare new burial plots as families mourn. Marzia Razaei weeps for son Arfan Shamei killed in military training camp blast.

War began February 28 with air strikes on Tehran and other cities; over 1,300 Iranians have died so far, according to officials.

Tears stream down Razaei’s face as she recalls last conversation with her son. He was due home for family trip before death.

Shamei killed in blast at Kermanshah camp March 4, turning his tent into flame and leaving body too charred for identification.

Graves in Behesht-e Zahra cemetery’s Section 42 are being prepared; another body brought in for burial as air strike echoes nearby.

Women sit by graves, some quietly weeping, others beating chests. Flowers strewn across graves, loudspeakers play Shi’ite hymns of mourning.

Fatima Darbechi mourns brother killed while rescuing trapped people during bombing campaign.

Some mourners express anger and defiance at Israel and US for their bombings.
