
In Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials thwarted a major terror plot by arresting a female suicide bomber during an operation in the Sheikh Yousaf tent settlement area. The woman, identified as hailing from Waziristan and serving as a close aide to militant commander Shah Wali, also known as Tariq Kochi, associated with Fitna al Khawarij, was apprehended.
The suspect confessed that she had received training from Tariq Kochi and revealed that materials for the suicide attack, including the intended target, were to be provided by Asim, another militant commander. Authorities found a 30-bore pistol, ammunition, mobile phones, a tablet, and devices believed to be for use in the planned assault on her person during questioning.
CTD officials stated that preliminary forensic analysis of seized phones indicated communications with banned Tehreek groups and evidence suggesting her willingness to carry out the attack. The investigation is ongoing, with further details expected to emerge as authorities review additional intelligence gathered from the suspect’s devices.
