12-Year-Old Madrassa Student Dies After Alleged Teacher Torture in Lahore

A 12-year-old seminary student, Ali Haider from Bahawalnagar, died after alleged severe torture by a madrassa teacher in Lahore’s Burki area. Police stated that the victim was beaten for failing to attend a religious gathering eight days prior. The assault left him with multiple fractures and he battled for his life for eight days before succumbing.

Ali Haider’s family has accused Qari Ghulam Rasool, the madrassa teacher, of the incident. They have submitted an application to the Burki police station seeking registration of a case against the suspect. The body was shifted to a morgue for post-mortem examination and legal proceedings initiated. Authorities confirmed that the accused teacher had fled and not yet been taken into custody.

An investigation is underway as efforts are made to apprehend the suspect. Ali Haider’s father expressed his desire for justice, stating that his child was subjected to great injustice.
