20-year-old man arrested after arson attack on OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s home. Incident occurred around 4:12 AM Friday when a suspect threw Molotov cocktail at North Beach residence, identified as Altman’s home.

One hour later, police detained the suspect following reports of threats to burn down another building near OpenAI headquarters. No injuries reported; OpenAI confirmed cooperation with law enforcement.

OpenAI spokesperson thanked SFPD for swift response; Sam Altman acknowledged AI technology’s risks in blog post. Attack comes amid mounting pressure over controversial military operations deal and recent polls showing distrust in AI sector, less popular than US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Motive remains unknown; San Francisco Police Department has not yet linked attack to company controversies.
