A magnitude 3.1 earthquake jolted Qilla Saifullah in Balochistan’s northeastern areas during the early hours of Wednesday, causing panic among residents. No loss of life or property damage was reported from Qilla Saifullah due to the quake.

Local officials confirmed that people initially came out of their homes in fear but soon returned indoors after reciting verses from the Holy Quran for reassurance. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad recorded the epicenter of the quake at 100 kilometers northeast of Muslim Bagh, at a depth of 16 kilometers.

Meanwhile, earlier on Monday, tremors were felt in Dalbandin and its surrounding areas of Balochistan. That event had measured 4.2 on the Richter scale with an epicenter 47 kilometers southeast of Dalbandin.
