Afghan FM Urges Dialogue with Islamabad for Resolution

Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, stated that Afghanistan is keen to resolve all issues with Pakistan through dialogue and mutual understanding.

During a telephone conversation with the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Muttaqi made these remarks. The discussion covered bilateral relations, ongoing issues between Afghanistan and the United States, regional situation, and recent developments in Afghanistan-Pakistan ties.

Muttaqi expressed gratitude to the UAE for its successful mediation in securing the release of an American prisoner and reaffirmed Afghanistan’s commitment to resolving issues through diplomatic engagement. He also criticized the reported conflict involving the US and Israel against Iran, warning that such developments pose a serious threat to regional stability.

Regarding ties with Pakistan, Muttaqi emphasized that Afghanistan wants all disputes to be settled through peaceful dialogue. He assured that Afghan territory would not be used against Pakistan, noting that serious steps have already been taken in this regard.

Meanwhile, the UAE foreign minister reiterated that rising tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan are not in the interest of either country and assured that the UAE would continue efforts to help ease tensions.
