Former Duke of York, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, remains uncertain about his standing within the royal family following his recent expulsion from the Royal Lodge.
In an interview with GB News, royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo highlighted that this situation involves “family loyalty, public outrage, and the survival of the monarchy,” which are three conflicting elements.
Heydel-Mankoo emphasized that King Charles and other members of the Royal Family care deeply about Andrew, their brother, uncle, and cousin. He added that while there is concern for Andrew’s well-being and security, the monarchy must also be safeguarded.
Despite his entitlement to taxpayer-funded security and titles, it appears that Andrew “cannot be completely ostracized” from the royal family. However, he still does not fully comprehend why he holds this position.
