Anne Hathaway Opens Up About Feeling ‘Defeated’ as Working Mom

Anne Hathaway, star of ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’, recently spoke with Harper’s Bazaar about balancing motherhood and acting career. The 43-year-old actress, who has two sons, Jack and Jonathan, expressed feeling “very defeated” in managing both aspects.

Before becoming a mother, Hathaway’s focus was “uncompromising and uninterrupted,” she told the publisher. However, with children, life is more of an up-and-down cycle.

Hathaway noted that her friends also feel defeated by the concept of balance, as they find it difficult to maintain without compromising one aspect for another. Instead of striving for balance, they have adopted a philosophy of forgiveness and harmony in their lives.
