Grammy-winning artist Ariana Grande unveiled a new set of tattoos adorned on her hands earlier this year. The intricate floral motifs and detailed linework seemed to form an elaborate botanical theme, capturing the attention of social media users. In recent interviews, Grande spoke candidly about the tumultuous period that led up to these engravings.

In 2017, Ariana was thrust into a whirlwind of emotions following a tragic bombing at her concert in Manchester where 22 people lost their lives. Within just over a month, Mac Miller, her ex-boyfriend, succumbed to an accidental drug overdose. These devastating events had left Grande reeling.

The year after those traumatic experiences saw the release of Grande’s album “Sweetener.” Throughout this period, she candidly discussed the struggles with mental health challenges, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, depression, and anxiety. At that time, Grande was rigorously undergoing therapy sessions, which provided solace amidst her tumultuous times.

“When I was making music during those dark days, it brought a lot of levity to me,” she recalled on the podcast Chatter. “The urgency with which I approached my work then was partly driven by survival.”

Grande’s artistry continued as an outlet for healing, and her album “Sweetener” bore witness to these experiences. It demonstrated how music could be both a therapeutic tool and an instrument of resilience in her journey towards recovery.
