The Interior Ministry has approved the Sindh Home Department’s request for the deployment of army and Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel across Sindh during the month of Muharram.
Under Sections 4 and 5 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, the army and FC will be deployed to assist the civil administration and take control of any area as necessary.
The federal Ministry of Interior has issued orders for this deployment, adding that the forces will support the civil administration based on the ground situation.
The Interior Ministry has clarified that provincial authorities will have the discretion to determine the specific deployment locations. The Sindh Home Department has already coordinated with military authorities, preparing a roadmap for the deployment during Muharram.
This measure is part of a nationwide effort to ensure security during the month of Muharram.
