Azerbaijan Prepares LNG Supply to Pakistan Amid Energy Shortfall

Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR announced it is prepared to deliver liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan upon receiving a request from Islamabad. The company stated this capability, as per Reuters’ inquiries on Tuesday, stems from a framework agreement signed in 2025 between SOCAR Trading and Pakistan LNG, which allows for accelerated procedures.

Pakistan, heavily dependent on gas for its energy needs, faces vulnerabilities due to declining domestic production and fluctuating global LNG prices amid supply disruptions linked to the Iran conflict.
