Babar Azam secured his 11th century in T20 cricket during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Monday, February 26.
Facing off against Islamabad United, captained by Shadab Khan, Babar showcased his exceptional talent, marking his second century in the PSL, following his previous feat against the Quetta Gladiators last year.
Babar’s remarkable innings contributed significantly to Zalmi’s formidable total of 201 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. He reached his half-century in 39 balls before accelerating to a century in just 59 balls.
Partnering with young left-hander Saim Ayub, Babar initiated a solid 77-run opening stand, later forging an unbeaten 77-run partnership with Asif Ali to propel Zalmi past the 200-run mark.
With this century, Babar Azam joins the elite ranks of batters, standing alongside the legendary Chris Gayle as one of only two players to achieve 10 or more centuries in T20 cricket.
