Upon learning of the decision, according to sources, Afridi sought clarification from PCB officials, questioning, “Can you provide reasons for my removal from T20I captaincy?”

However, the sources disclosed that the PCB officials were unable to provide a satisfactory response to Afridi’s inquiry.

The PCB officials stated, “It has been decided to appoint Babar Azam as the skipper,” confirming Azam’s impending return to the leadership role.
