Bangladesh FM Holds Talks with India Leaders in New Delhi on Cooperation, Security, Trade, Extraditions and Visas

Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman met with India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors and reviewing regional and global developments.

Rahman highlighted the “Bangladesh First” policy, emphasizing mutual respect and shared interests under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s leadership.

Security cooperation remained a priority, with both sides expressing gratitude for India’s arrest of suspects involved in martyr Usman Hadi’s killing. Bangladesh also reiterated its demand for the extradition of Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

Economic discussions included easing visa procedures for Bangladeshi citizens and increased energy cooperation, with India agreeing to support fuel and fertilizer exports from Bangladesh.
