Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), spoke at an election rally in Skardu. He emphasized support for peace efforts, particularly those led by field marshal aimed at ending conflicts such as the Iran situation, which he said has been a source of global economic burden.
He highlighted PPP’s commitment to peace and its history of opposing war, noting that the party is dedicated to representing marginalized communities including farmers, laborers, and youth who benefit from job creation and economic opportunity.
Bilawal also discussed key welfare programs like the Benazir Income Support Programme, which he defended against attempts to undermine it. He credited past leaders for strengthening Pakistan’s defense capabilities and noted that Gilgit-Baltistan’s resources belong to its people, advocating for greater autonomy.
He further pledged to enhance local development projects in Sindh province, aimed at providing housing for flood victims, and emphasized the region’s potential to supply electricity to Islamabad, promoting economic empowerment.
