India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reportedly blocked all social media accounts of the “Cockroach Janta Party,” an emerging online youth movement. The digital initiative gained millions of followers quickly, drawing attention across Indian social media platforms and unsettling political circles.
The campaign began after a controversial statement by Chief Justice of India regarding youth, sparking widespread online discussion and mobilization. Abhijeet Dapke, the party’s founder, stated that the organization has lost access to all its official social media accounts and his personal Instagram account was hacked.
Dapke has been receiving death threats following an online campaign calling for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This situation has sparked debate over digital freedom, online activism, and increasing political tensions surrounding youth-led movements in India.
