Blast in Guangxi Kills Seven, Injures 17; Investigation Underway

An explosion occurred early Thursday morning in Guangxi, southwestern China, killing seven people and injuring seventeen others. Local authorities stated that the incident took place at 1:40 a.m. in Xingan, a town located in a mountainous area rich in mineral and agricultural resources. None of the injured were reported to be in critical condition, and officials are investigating the cause while ruling out any risk from gas pipelines.
