The CFL game between Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday was marred by injuries to both starting quarterbacks. Bo Levi Mitchell, the Tigers’ quarterback, left the field in an ambulance after sustaining a lower-body injury during a sack by Jake Ceresna. His foot appeared trapped beneath the Winnipeg defender.
Mitchell’s performance before the injury was impressive, completing 18 of 29 passes for 228 yards and one touchdown. He had thrown for 879 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception in Hamilton’s first three games. After being taken off the field, he confirmed that he would not return.
Meanwhile, Winnipeg also suffered an upper-body injury to veteran quarterback Zach Collaros during the second quarter. He was sacked high by Hamilton defensive back Reggie Stubblefield and left the game before being replaced by Taylor Elgersma. Both teams are expected to provide further updates on their quarterbacks’ conditions following medical evaluations.
