The Sindh government has proposed salary increases of up to 30% for provincial government employees in the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah presented the budget during an assembly session on Friday, highlighting a detailed review that led to the recommendation of a minimum salary of Rs37,000.
“For Grades 1 to 6, we increased salaries by 30%. If their salary still does not reach Rs37,000, a personal pay differential will be provided to ensure they receive this minimum amount,” he explained.
For employees in Grades 7 to 16, salaries will increase by 25%, while those in Grade 17 and above will see a 22% increase.
Additionally, a 15% increase in pensions was announced.
The proposed minimum wage in the province is set at Rs37,000, subject to final approval after consultations with the minimum wage board and the Labour Department.
