The federal cabinet has authorized the privatization of 13 entities under the Power Division, which includes nine power distribution companies and power generation companies (GENCOs). Additionally, six entities within the Power Division, including Power Holding Limited and Central Power Purchasing Agency, have been designated as ‘nationally important.’

The cabinet has also approved the restructuring of four Power Division entities, namely the Quetta Electric Supply Company, Tribal Electric Supply Company, NTDC, and NESPAK.
