Approves Asset Acquisition
The (CCP) has approved the proposed acquisition of a liquid carbon dioxide plant by Pak Arab Fertilizers Limited. The approval was granted following a Phase-I review under the Competition Act, 2010.
Pak Arab Fertilizers Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, seeks to acquire Pakistan Oxygen Limited’s LCO₂ plant through an Asset Purchase Agreement dated February 4, 2026.
The CCP assessed the transaction’s impact on market structure, competition dynamics, and market concentration. The Commission found that the merger would not significantly alter competitive conditions or create barriers to entry for other participants in the relevant market.
The approval reflects the CCP’s commitment to facilitating legitimate business transactions while ensuring competition, market efficiency, and consumer welfare remain protected.
