Approves Treet Corporation’s Share Subscription in Loads Limited
The (CCP) has approved the proposed subscription of additional ordinary shares by Treet Corporation Limited to Loads Limited. This decision follows a Phase-I review under the 2010 Competition Act.
Treet Corporation, a public listed company involved in manufacturing and selling razors and razor blades across various sectors including batteries and electric bikes, submitted an application for approval under Section 11 of the Competition Act. The transaction involves increasing its shareholding in Loads Limited through a rights issue.
The Commission identified relevant product markets as exhaust systems, radiators, and metal sheet components for Pakistan’s automotive industry. It observed that Treet Corporation and Loads Limited are already associated undertakings with common management representation.
The competition assessment found no alteration to market shares or impact on competition in the relevant markets. The CCP concluded that the proposed subscription would neither create barriers to entry nor significantly enhance market power, thus not likely to result in adverse effects on competition or a substantial lessening of competition in the relevant market.
This approval underscores the CCP’s commitment to facilitating legitimate corporate restructuring and investment while ensuring market competition, efficiency, and consumer welfare remain protected.
