The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), pledging to collaborate on research, policy analysis, and evidence-based recommendations aimed at fostering competitive and inclusive markets. The move comes after Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman of CCP, along with Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri, Deputy Director General of SDPI, witnessed the signing ceremony attended by senior officials from both organizations.

Dr Kabir Ahmed Sidhu highlighted that the partnership would enable both institutions to collaboratively evaluate existing legal and regulatory frameworks, ensuring they remain relevant in an evolving market landscape. He emphasized that this collaboration would not only facilitate high-quality research but also generate actionable insights needed to support informed policy decisions. Sidhu underscored their commitment to ensure markets benefit all stakeholders—consumers and businesses alike—and are free from monopolistic and oligopolistic practices.
