Key Recommendations Include:

– Urgent modernization of distribution networks
– National rollout of smart meters and grid automation systems like SCADA and DMS
– Improvements in product quality and consumer protection through accredited testing laboratories and international standards compliance
– Incentives for battery storage technologies to reduce grid pressure and enhance energy reliability

The study highlights the need for regional disparities to be addressed by extending solar benefits to rural areas, including off-grid solutions, targeted subsidies, and concessional financing.

To stimulate domestic manufacturing of solar panels amid rising energy costs and geopolitical tensions, the CCP recommends introducing a Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and developing dedicated renewable energy zones.
