CDA Chairman Vows Business-Friendly Measures

Captain (R) Anwar ul Haq, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), assured on Saturday that the CDA is committed to implementing initiatives to facilitate the business community and address pressing issues hindering business development. He emphasized the organization’s dedication to establishing transparent and financially viable systems to better serve citizens and businesses.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari at the CDA Head Office, Anwar discussed various measures being undertaken by the authority. He highlighted plans for an automated parking system to tackle parking issues in markets and announced the imminent operationalization of the Islamabad Citizen Club.

Anwar expressed CDA’s willingness to transfer public toilets, filtration plants, and hospitals to ICCI for maintenance and operation under mutually agreed terms. Additionally, he mentioned the consideration of outsourcing water supply and waste management services to enhance efficiency and convenience for residents.

Furthermore, Anwar disclosed CDA’s initiatives such as digitizing land records, introducing electric buses, and organizing tree plantation drives to promote environmental sustainability in Islamabad.

In response, ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari outlined key concerns of the business community, urging urgent action from CDA. He emphasized the need for flower markets, completion of infrastructure projects, and improved sewerage systems.

Senior officials from ICCI, including former President Zafar Bakhtawari and Senior Vice President Faad Waheed, also highlighted issues facing the industrial sector and emphasized the importance of prompt resolution.

The delegation included prominent figures such as former ICCI President Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, as well as representatives from various sectors.
