Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated on Thursday that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to counter both conventional and hybrid threats in an evolving security environment. During a visit to the frontlines in Kashmir, he emphasized that any act of aggression would be met with a swift and fitting response.
The remarks came as Pakistan observed Kashmir Solidarity Day to support the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their struggle for self-determination. To mark the occasion, solidarity walks, seminars, and exhibitions are being organized across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Field Marshal Munir visited a forward post in AJK where he interacted with troops deployed on the frontlines, reiterating that any act of aggression would be met with immediate action. He underscored the armed forces’ readiness to handle both conventional and hybrid threats.
In a statement by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the CDF paid homage to the martyrs of the Kashmir freedom struggle in Muzaffarabad by laying a wreath at the Jammu and Kashmir Martyrs Monument. The ISPR also stated that he reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering political, moral, and diplomatic support for IIOJK.
The Chief of Army Staff highlighted Indian atrocities, human rights violations, and Hindutva-driven excesses in IIOJK but noted they have not suppressed the legitimate struggle and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to raise the issue at all relevant international forums until a just resolution is achieved, consistent with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
CDF Munir praised the professionalism, morale, and combat readiness of officers and soldiers deployed in AJK despite challenging operational conditions. He emphasized the imperative of maintaining peak operational preparedness, vigilance, and seamless synergy across all domains to effectively deter any hostile provocation.
Earlier that day, Field Marshal Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the security environment following recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan by Commander Rawalpindi Corps. CDF Munir stated that no one can rationalize violence or terrorism under any pretext and emphasized that all terrorists would be dealt with strictly according to law. He reiterated Pakistan’s stance against India-backed designated terrorists.
Earlier, during his visit to Quetta after the recent attacks, Munir had also remarked, “No terrorist and its facilitator will be spared, and all will be dealt strictly as per law.”
