Karachi Reports First Dengue Death of 2026

First dengue-related death reported in Karachi’s East District

The Sindh Health Department confirmed 198 dengue cases across the province so far this year. Of these, 163 were recorded in Karachi Division.

Other divisions reported fewer cases: 24 in Hyderabad, eight in Mirpur Khas, and three in Sukkur.

Malaria remains a significant concern with 20,123 cases reported in Sindh from January to April 7. In Karachi alone, 184 malaria cases have been documented, including 88 in South District, 29 each in West and Malir Districts, 19 in Korangi, 10 in East, four in Kemari, and five in Central District.

Elsewhere in the province, malaria cases include 7,765 in Hyderabad, 2,205 in Sukkur, 5,468 in Larkana, 1,957 in Mirpur Khas, and 2,544 in Shaheed Benazirabad.
