CM Maryam praises Lahoreis for following safety SOPs during Basant

In Lahore, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz commended the city’s residents for their compliance with safety protocols during the Basant festival. Praising the residents’ adherence to government guidelines, she noted it was heartening that the celebrations were conducted in a manner that upheld the community’s trust.

Speaking on her behalf and on behalf of the government, Maryam emphasized how residents had demonstrated their commitment to public health by observing safety measures such as avoiding metal strings and maintaining safety at rooftop areas. She highlighted that no prohibited kite flying had been reported during the event.

Maryam pointed out that Lahore’s vibrant atmosphere was partly due to citizens’ active role in ensuring a safe festival. The Chief Minister also praised the city’s robust preparation, noting how 200 mobile clinics and 21 field hospitals were strategically placed across various districts to ensure public safety throughout the festivities.

As Basant concluded on its final day, Maryam urged the community to remain vigilant and continue maintaining hygiene and social distancing practices. She underlined that the “Safe Basant” model successfully showcased how a festival could be celebrated responsibly, making it an exemplary blueprint for other cities in the country.

Her comments underscored Lahore’s commitment not only to cultural festivities but also to public health, reflecting on the multifaceted role of local authorities in ensuring residents’ well-being during significant events.
