Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir emphasized the crucial role of research and positive thinking in combating misinformation during his historic address at the Pakistan National Youth Conference in Islamabad. General Munir highlighted the purpose of social media and propaganda, noting their potential to spread uncertainty, chaos, and despair.

Addressing the future builders of Pakistan, the COAS stressed the importance of confidence in the nation, culture, civilization, and oneself. He reminded the youth that they are the guardians of the nation’s bright traditions and the interpreters of the dreams of Allama Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

General Munir underscored that while the Pakistan Army could fight against terrorists, the cooperation of the entire nation was necessary to combat terrorism. He encouraged the youth to research news on social media critically, emphasizing that without research and positive thinking, society remains in chaos.

Quoting a verse from the Holy Quran, General Munir highlighted the importance of verifying news, particularly if brought by a transgressor. Drawing parallels, he likened the establishment of Pakistan to that of the state of Madina, both founded on the basis of the Kalima Tayyaba.

Emphasizing Pakistan’s readiness to tackle any threat, General Munir declared that Pakistan’s forces exist because Pakistan exists, underlining the nation’s commitment to sovereignty. He urged faith in the bright future of Pakistan and the maintenance of the legacy of ancestors. The COAS received enthusiastic support from students, who raised slogans of “Pakistan Army Zindabad,” “Pakistan Zindabad,” and “Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad” during the speech.
