In the early hours of Tuesday, a tense encounter between suspected terrorists and members of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Shah Latif Town’s Malir district resulted in four deaths and injuries among security personnel.

The operation commenced after intelligence reports indicated that a house within the locality harbored suspected militants. Security officials entered the residence after cordoning off the area, but were met with gunfire from inside. In response to this assault, law enforcement retaliated by deploying force.

CTD authorities identified three of the deceased as Jaleel, Niaz and Hamdan; while another individual’s identity remains pending verification. Two CTD officers received injuries during the confrontation and were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

A bomb disposal squad was then dispatched to the scene where they carried out a meticulous search within the premises. Authorities discovered improvised explosive devices (IEDs) being prepared inside storage drums. Explosives, IEDs, detonators, wires, and circuits were retrieved during this thorough investigation.

The CTD personnel defused all hazardous materials on site to prevent any potential damage or injuries. Further investigations are currently underway to uncover the network behind these suspects and identify their possible targets. Security measures have since been bolstered in the area as evidence is gathered for legal proceedings.
