Dar Discusses Peace Efforts with Cooper on Regional Situation

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper on Monday. The Foreign Office spokesperson said both leaders discussed ongoing regional situation and recent developments.

Cooper appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to promote engagement and mediation between parties for peace in the region, according to her statement. During the call, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace through dialogue and diplomacy.

Both sides also addressed the conflict’s impact on the global economy and other broader dimensions, the Foreign Office said. They agreed to maintain close contact on bilateral matters as well as regional and global developments.
