Inter Milan showcased a dominant performance on Sunday as they routed 10-man Sassuolo 5-0 in Reggio Emilia, extending their lead at the top of Serie A to eight points. The match was particularly notable due to Federico Dimarco’s hat-trick of assists.

Leading scorer for Inter were Yann Bitton and Marcus Thuram who netted a goal each, with Manuel Akanji adding another. Lautaro Martinez and Luis Henrique also found the back of the net, effectively turning in their team’s commanding performance.

Dimarco was instrumental throughout the match, contributing directly to goals scored by his teammates Yann Bitton, Marcus Thuram, and Manuel Akanzi. His presence on the field made it hard for Sassuolo, who suffered a setback due to Nemanja Matic receiving his second yellow card in the 69th minute.

Despite being a man short at halftime, Sassuolo had an opportunity early when Ismael Kone’s shot narrowly went past the post. However, Dimarco’s acrobatics prevented it from crossing the line and turning into a goal.

As Inter now boasts 58 points from their 24 matches, they lead AC Milan by eight points after the Rossoneri played one game fewer. Sassuolo, on the other hand, remains in 11th place with just 29 points from their 24 games played so far this season.

Inter’s convincing win over Sassuolo not only maintained their position at the summit of Serie A but also highlighted the significant impact Dimarco continues to have throughout the match.
